The E2X Back Panel connectors are designed for the Telecom Industry. These conform to BT D2580D (Type 222) standards. These find many new applications in areas such as Computing, Datacoms and Process Control due to its flexibility. These are also approved by C-DOT for use in their exchanges.
The system uses standard and reverse DIN 41612 PCB connectors in 3 rows with modular 9, 14, 21, 45, 64 and 96 way cable connectors.
Cable connectors are terminated by means of the 'IDC' principle and will accept 26 or 30 AWG discrete or ribbon cables. Uninsulated drain wires can also be terminated without the need for additional insulation keys.
Latching and polarisation is achieved by means of tabs on the cable connectors and latchframes fitted to the PCB connectors.
